Traps should be set in mid May to end of June during the peak period of adult Chafer flight to view fact sheet on Chafer Traps click here. If re-using traps you will need to purchase new lures
Traps should be set 10-15 cm into the turf to firmly fix the traps use a retention stick and cable tie if required. The yellow fins and attractant encourage adult chafer looking for mates or suitable egg laying areas in to the traps. Unpack the lures remove the red seal cap, pull the fins to one side and slip lure bottle through hole in fins and fix with diffuser cap. The trap is now ready for use.
Every few days monitor and record numbers caught. You should also be able to identify species of Chafer caught.
